Go For It: Pre-enterprise Seminars, InnoTech Centre South West College InnoTech are running a series of short pre-enterprise seminars that will be offered in all College campuses as part of the Invest Northern Ireland Enterprise Development Programme. They are aimed at individuals who are considering starting up in business but have not done anything about it.

Invest Northern Ireland’s Go for it Programme is designed to help you start
a successful business. The programme offers a range of services including:

  • Training in the key aspects of starting a business e.g. marketing, finance and legal issues
  • Tailored one to one advice and support
  • Signposting to other sources of support, advice and help

Benefits of starting a business
Starting your own business can provide many benefits including: being your own boss, earning your own income, achieving a better work/life balance and being able to capitalise on your skills and knowledge.  Running a business may also allow you to fit your working life around other commitments such as family and other interests. However, it is important to consider the drawbacks such as working long hours, the risks and having to dealing with business problems.

Are you an entrepreneur?
Many people in Northern Ireland start a business. There is no set profile of an entrepreneur; they can be young or old, male or female and they come from all sorts of backgrounds. They do however have some things in common: i.e.

  • Determination
  • Motivation
  • Hardworking
  • Belief in their idea
  • Good at problem solving

Attend a seminar
The seminars are free to attend, last approx 3 hours and will take place at various times and over all campuses: Dungannon, Cookstown, Enniskillen and Omagh. The seminars are targeted into three areas: Women, Mainstream and Ethnic.

The first seminar is specifically aimed at Women and will take place in the Cookstown Campus on 23rd September 2009 at 6.30pm-9.30pm.
