Employer Information and Guidance Day

employer-day Fergal Tuffy, Dwayne Duncan and Paul Cairns from the InnoTech Centre attended an Employer Information and Guidance Day event organised by Omagh District Council, in conjunction with the ABLE project, in the Silverbirch Hotel, Omagh on Monday 19th October.

Fergal presented a workshop entitled ‘Innovation Support and Services’. The InnoTech Centre also exhibited at the event to promote its services to local businesses. It was one of about 35 local information and service organisations who attended. The event provided advice and support to businesses to help strengthen economic development in the area. The InnoTech Centre exhibit attracted a number of business enquiries which will hopefully lead to new relationships with local companies in the future. The event was also an opportunity to promote the new Department for Employment and Learning (DEL) Rapid Response NI programme designed to help companies suffering from the economic downturn. This programme is delivered by the six FE Colleges and offers advice, training courses and mentoring to companies and employees facing a redundancy situation.

Commenting on the event, Fergal Tuffy of the South West College InnoTech Centre said

“The event was an excellent opportunity for meeting with industry and entrepreneurs from the Omagh region. With so many stands at the event it was a one stop shop for anyone from industry looking for guidance and assistance. From an InnoTech point of view it was great to see the amount of interest we had from industry.”
