Partners are from the world of VET, the Facility Management Segment, energy efficiency experts as well as innovation experts

 

Aim

  • To improve the environmental & sustainability skills needs of facility managers
  • This will be done by delivering a modular VET course and open educational resources on environment technologies & sustainable building services
  • Facility managers, apart from technical and management proficiency, require a mix of digital and environmental skills to maintain high-performance buildings with significantly reduced energy and water consumption.
  • There is thus an increasing need to enhance the skills of facility managers on carbon emission reduction practices, monitoring resources consumption, and on using up-to-date environmental technologies systems to enhance building sustainability and reduce negative environmental impact

 

The main activities will include

  • Analysis of current and future workforce training needs to develop updates and tailored occupational needs, modern environmental technologies and services learning outcomes
  • Development of modular learning units for a comprehensive VET programme in environment technologies and sustainable building services
  • Development of pedagogical resources and assessment tools  to be offered as Open Education Resources
  • Development, testing and delivery of a MOOC on environmental technologies and services

 

Outputs

  • O1: Evidence based learning outcomes
  • O2: DEFMA learning units and VET integration guidelines
  • O3: DEFMA Open Educational Resources
  • O4: DEFMA Massive Open Online Course
  • O5: EU Strategic Partnership for the validation, endorsement and mutual recognition of DEFMA units of learning outcomes
  • Two demonstration workshops in the UK and Italy to promote DEFMA results and validate all DEFMA learning materials (E1-2)
  • Three national information days in Bulgaria, Greece, and Lithuania to share and disseminate DEFMA results
